    back to school is good

while now i  am on the volunteer trip in Zhangjiajie Hunan.  the mission is to organize the summer english camp at zhangjiajie nationality high school . the  approx 50 volunteers are divided into 7 groups , each group has one native English spoken teacher , one  assistant teacher , one translator , three helps.  My group’s teacher are the Wilsons  the husband  James and Kathy ( the wife) , plus me the translator and  April /Drogen /Venessa  three HK highschool students.  the topic our class is teaching is fairness.  Honestly , I like this topic one thing China need the most and we all need the most.

teaching is a hard job I have to admit it .  the Day 1 was such a humility hot day ,  everyone became sweaty after  the day .  3hrs in the morning and 3 hrs in the afternoon , but I do felt like longer than 6hrs.

talking to the local students , encourage them to open up the mouth to practice spoken english is a interesting task.   YOu have to work with native speaker and as the translation you need to monitor the class’s reactive whether they maintain focus on the topic or they felt lost because they can not understand what the U.S teacher is talking about . then as the translator you need to step in now  to use as little Chinese as possible to get their attention and interests back.

another thing i founded out very interesting is how to maintain energetic and enthusiasm  on the  same topic  you gonna taught taught 7 times , how to treat the 7th batch student as good as the very 1st batch you ever taught when you have all the excitements and looking forward the adventures  in such a eager heart.  finger crossed the next two days are all going well as the 1st couple of days  the whole event could be a successful event.

God bless the group and every volunteers who travel a long way there.
